"Go out on a limb, isn't that where the fruit is anyway?" Scully (an American writer)

What an interesting quote, don't you think?

It is out on a limb that we feel the most vulnerable and at risk, but indeed that is exactly where the fruit of the tree is found.

I parallel this quote to the way faith is at work in our lives. Living and walking in faith (in Christ) is where we will be nourished and well supplied for and taken care of, but the faith walk is one of unseen substance. One must believe there is a sure foundation to walk upon even before a step is taken, in any direction. We are such a "Show me the Money" type of people aren't we?

Christ is the only constant unchanging in a person's life, faith in Him is not a variable, but the fixed point on which everything else pivots.

"Change is constant" has been the mantra for the last several decades and in human terms, it is a fact, we change daily. But as it relates to our Savior, I believe it would be more accurately stated, as only the sequence and the events in which Christ uses to serve His unchanging purpose that is perceived as change, and only perceived as change, because we don't know the beginning to the end. He does!

Faith as the fruit in and for life, is an interesting concept. Fed, nourished, tasting of the sweetness of God, protected, all of the above! We live in faith anyway, faith the sun will rise, faith that gravity will not fail, faith that at the stop sign the other car will stop, faith that the debit card will continue to work, faith that the flower will bloom, why not put your faith in an unfailing, all loving all knowing Savior who really has our best interest considered in the plan of eternity?

Tune in again as we continue this journey together.

Ramblings:

Living and learning from past mistakes. Wow, if only we could really learn to NOT repeat past mistakes. But is a thing a mistake if we take a lesson from it?

What about weight gain? How many folks just eat because the taste buds say "how nice, I want more" No matter how it affects the health we tend to give in and feed the voice of the taste buds. This is a strange thing to me.

What about dating the wrong guy/gal? Has society told us so often that attraction is the chemistry on which to build a relationship? This is a scary thought. Do we ever stop to think that we are actually marrying / or living with someones character? Beauty, brawn, firm, tight, new and shiny wears thin after a few years, what then. Do we build a life with the package or do we stop and begin doing the difficult thing before we jump and learn of the character of this friend, this possible life mate.

Have you ever repeated something in your life and it begged the question, Haven't I done this before?

I truly believe that every question we have can be answered through God's word and through constant communication with our Lord, by prayer. Why then do we run to the phone to discuss the details of the latest and greatest to whoever will listen when we have the ear of the creator of the entire universe?

All rhetorical ramblings, just things I think about when given an opportunity to think and dream. Many times I pose statements and questions to myself to begin opening up my mind to different possibilities that God may want to show me.
